Tea Time

This project has been rolling around in my mind for quite some time now, and I’ve finally felt the need to begin in earnest.

I love tea. It’s even on my About page. I don’t have a specific brand or type of tea that I exclusively consume, but I often find myself drinking various varieties of Yogi®. When I noticed the lovely little sayings on their tea tags, I couldn’t help but save them for something.

This series takes the humble little piece of paper that dangles from the end of your tea bag, a minute detail that usually saves you a utensil (or your fingers), but often has a lifespan of only 3-5 minutes, and elevates it to a piece of art. Or at least something to take notice of.

Below you’ll find a growing series of tea tag designs using actual Yogi® sayings that I collected over time. I’ve always had an affinity for using mundane objects in an unexpected fashion, and so I decided to use this opportunity to spread a little positive energy and inspiration to whomever may take notice. Hope you enjoy!

This project is not sponsored by Yogi®

Maintaining an open mind and thankful heart creates positive outcomes from otherwise less-than-ideal situations. Not only can you squeeze out a decent glass of lemonade now, you also set yourself up to make even better lemonade in the future.

Starting this week, I’m trying my hand at digital painting using the Procreate app!

The future is unknown, we can count on that. We are never done evolving and growing. But through it all, it’s important to remain true to yourself and to fight for who you are and what you want to become. In the end, you can find strength and comfort knowing you are you every step of the journey, and that is perfect.

Perpetual happiness is wholly unobtainable — as it should be — because there’s much more to life that makes us complete. Everyone is fighting their own battles, and it’s always okay to feel what you need feel.

BUT, when we ARE happy and we are able to show that to others, it spreads. That’s a good type of contagious.
